It is the oleaginous dried fruit richest in lipids (78%), but it is good fat since the macadamia nut contains, for the most part, monounsaturated fatty acids, which are anticholesterol. A recent American clinical study (University of Pennsylvania) has demonstrated its effectiveness, in daily and regular consumption for one month, to lower moderate hypercholesterolemia.


Very caloric (more than 700 calories per 100 g.), macadamia satisfies quickly. Its subtle taste of fresh butter is revealed when you crunch it, or by crushing it to sprinkle on a salad or ice cream. Lightly roasted, it is magnified.
